In the Middle Ages in many areas of Europe, these courts had much wider powers than before the development of nation-states. As a court of honor <strong>(or court of honour)<\/strong> we host official events constituted to determine various questions of social protocol, breaches of etiquette, and other allegations of breaches of honor, or entitlement to various honors. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Court_of_Chivalry\">Court of Chivalry<\/a>&nbsp;was at one time also known as the &#8220;Court of Honour&#8221;. This court has jurisdiction to try cases concerning contracts and other matters concerning deeds and acts of war. Our Court of Chivalry also has jurisdiction over disputes regarding heraldry and rights to use coats of arms. A court of honor can also be a military court to investigate and issue judgments concerning acts or omissions which are considered to be unbecoming to an &#8220;officer and a gentleman&#8221;, but which do not rise to the level where they are considered crimes triable under military law. Ecclesiastical jurisdiction in its primary sense does not signify jurisdiction over ecclesiastical leadership <strong>(&#8220;church leadership&#8221;)<\/strong>, but jurisdiction exercised by church leaders over other leaders and over the laity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A tribunal, generally, is any person or institution with the authority to judge, adjudicate on, or determine claims or disputes, whether or not it is called a tribunal in its title. <strong>The Global Village and the World Parliament as the Holy See Global District is a global episcopal see<\/strong>. The word see is derived from the Latin sedes, which in its original or proper sense denotes the seat or chair that as a Pharoah, in the case of a bishop, is the earliest symbol of the bishop&#8217;s authority. This symbolic chair is also known as the bishop&#8217;s cathedra or a Pharoah&#8217;s temple. A court of honor is also the name given to a tribunal of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aristocracy_(class)\">noblemen<\/a>&nbsp;who would decide whether a grievance over a point of honor rose to the level warranting a legal&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Duel\">duel<\/a>, and if so set rules for its fair conduct. The church in which it is placed is for that reason called the bishop&#8217;s cathedral, from the Latin ecclesia cathedralis, meaning the church of the cathedra. The word throne is also used, especially in the Eastern Orthodox Church, both for the chair and for the area of ecclesiastical jurisdiction. <strong>The term &#8220;see&#8221; is also used in the town where the cathedral or the bishop&#8217;s residence or Pharoah&#8217;s Royal Court is located<\/strong>.\u200b For example, an advocate who appears before a court with a single judge could describe that judge as &#8220;their tribunal.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many governmental bodies that are titled &#8220;tribunals&#8221; are described so in order to emphasize that they are not courts of normal jurisdiction. For example, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda was a body specially constituted under international law; in Great Britain, employment tribunals are bodies set up to hear specific employment disputes. In many <strong>(but not all)<\/strong> cases, the word tribunal implies a judicial <strong>(or quasi-judicial)<\/strong> body with a lesser degree of formality than a court, in which the normal rules of evidence and procedure may not apply, and whose presiding officers are frequently neither judges nor magistrates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Private judicial bodies are also often styled <em>&#8220;tribunals.&#8221;<\/em> The word tribunal, however, is not conclusive of a body&#8217;s function\u2014for example, in Great Britain, the Employment Appeal Tribunal is a superior court of record. The term is derived from the tribunes, and magistrates of the Classical Roman Republic. &#8220;Tribunal&#8221; originally referred to the office of the tribunes, and the term is still sometimes used in this sense in historical writings. Hence the word court may also be applied to the coterie of a senior member of the nobility. Royal courts may have their seat in a designated place, several specific places, or be a mobile, itinerant court. In the largest courts, the royal households, many thousands of individuals comprised the court. These courtiers included the adepts or noble&#8217;s camarilla and retinue, household, nobility, those with court appointments, bodyguards, and may also include emissaries from other kingdoms or visitors to the court. Foreign princes and foreign nobility in exile may also seek refuge at a court.
